# Getting rid of the DNS server
Sorry for not giving a warning in advance, but it had to be done. The botnet attacking 4get has made my server use up 8Mbit/s of transmitting bandwidth for no reason, so I had to investigate. I turned on the logging option on my DNS server and saw it was spamming resolution requests to `xxx.xkty9991.com` using many proxies. I had no choice but to shut that thing down. I'm still using it on-site, but it's no longer accessible outside of the network.
Sorry again, more interesting updates coming soon..
